We are looking for an experienced Field Service Technician to join our team in Polokwane. This position is ideal for a self-motivated professional who can work independently, manage their own schedule, and provide exceptional service to clients in the region.
As there is no local branch office, this is a home-based role requiring a reliable, trustworthy individual who can operate autonomously while maintaining high service standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Diagnose, repair, service, and install commercial kitchen equipment
• Conduct fault-finding using diagnostic and testing equipment
• Complete service reports and documentation accurately
• Manage electronic job cards and service requests via mobile devices
• Maintain company stock, tools, and equipment responsibly
• Deliver professional customer service and technical support
Minimum Requirements:
• Grade 12 and NTC 3
• Formal Electrical or Refrigeration Trade Qualification
• Minimum 3 years’ experience repairing and servicing commercial catering equipment
• Proven ability to work independently and manage field service operations
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with installations and parts quotations advantageous
• Computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Excellent English communication skills
• Valid driver’s licence
Essential Requirements:
• Must be reliable, trustworthy, and highly self-disciplined
• Must have a secure location at home to safely park a company vehicle
• Must have secure storage space for company stock and spare parts
• Must be comfortable receiving and managing job cards electronically via smartphone
• Must be able to hit the ground running with minimal technical supervision
Successful candidates will attend a two-week training programme to learn company systems and procedures. However, applicants must already possess the technical expertise required to diagnose and repair equipment independently.
